Translation
Translation services lie at the very heart of Fluent Translations. It’s the service we’re built upon and we pride ourselves on delivering the highest standards, every time.
The English word “translation” derives from the Latin translation, meaning “a carrying across” or “a bringing across”.
We take our role of translator seriously and take pride in being the bridge/messenger/conduit that “carries across” your messages between languages and cultures.
Importantly, we believe that truly effective translation is both an art and a science. Our translators understand that language is not merely a collection of words and rules of grammar and syntax for generating sentences, but also a vast interconnecting system of meanings, connotations and cultural references.
Taglines, headlines, and other creative marketing copy are often based on culturally dependent elements including idioms, puns, word play, insinuation, subtext, or rhymes in the source language. If simply translated verbatim into another language, these elements may not make sense, or worse, can potentially have a different meaning, or even an offensive connotation. Fluent Translations’ multicultural marketing solutions help ensure maximum impact your marketing materials that will resonate with your target audience. Whether you’re a corporation looking to adapt and target your branding, marketing, and advertising for new markets, or an agency working toward these goals on a client’s behalf, we are your go-to source for impactful copywriting in any language.
Commitment to Cost Savings & Consistency
Our commitment to providing you with cost savings and consistency means we constantly look for ways to bring you greater value. One of the ways we do this is through the use of Translation memory (TM).
We manage a unique translation memory (TM) and term base (TB) for each customer and each project to ensure uniformity in translation over time, as well as consistent use of your own special terminology. TM reuses your past translations to improve translation consistency, efficiency and productivity.
The TM process works by splitting text into short segments and storing their translations in a database. Whenever a segment is repeated, the translator can reuse a fitting previous translation, or sometimes paste a translation of a similar segment with minor edits. Compared to machine translation, TM relies on actual human translations that are more consistent, accurate and contain the terminology and nuances that work best for you.
Our TM programs mean quicker delivery times and a more efficient, streamlined process, so you save time and money.
